Duties & Responsibilities :
Project Planning and Reporting
- Keep abreast and maintain current working knowledge of local laws and relevant international guidelines, including best practices and key trends in sustainability.
- Coordinate and implement sustainability-related policies, local/ international standards/ certifications, and guidelines/ best practices.
- Establish a robust measurement and reporting system, including data collection/ analysis procedures.
- Coordinate with internal functional custodians or working groups on sustainability strategies, action plans and data; including monitoring/ auditing of the sustainability operational plans.
- Promote understanding and awareness of sustainability (e.g. trainings, workshops, focus groups) across the Group and its subsidiaries to enhance internal integration of sustainability practices.
- Build and support collaborative relationships with identified external stakeholders (e.g. customers, industry bodies, suppliers, academia, community) to drive coalitions consensus and action.
- Contribute to the production of sustainability-related communications i.e. corporate website, corporate sustainability statement and other collateral materials.
- Perform any other duties reasonably assigned
Required Experience :
- Minimum of Bachelors degree in business/ commerce/ economics/ finance, communications, development, environmental studies, engineering, or related/ equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in corporate responsibility/ sustainability, community relations, environmental studies, supply chain or equivalent experience.
- Have in-depth knowledge and know-how in establishing sustainability requirements through strategies, targets and KPIs, policies, partnerships, monitoring/ measurement, and continuous improvement.
- Familiar with the requirements of RSPO, SEDEX; or reporting framework such as GRI Standards; or management systems i.e. ISO9001/ 14001/ 45001 would be advantageous.
Skills & competencies:
- Passionate about sustainability and be willing to make interconnections, adapt and coordinate work in diverse industries.
- Possess startup mentality proactive/ bias to action, willingness to take lead in delivering change, establish processes/ procedures, willingness to teach and listen, team player at the same time able to work independently.
- Event and/ or project management experience; with the ability to ideate, contextualise, lead and execute a project through completion.
- Possess analytical, organisational, problem-solving, planning and decision-making skills; with ability to collaborate cross-function with various levels of stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/ presentation skills; with a focus on sustainability communications. A working knowledge on the GRI Standards and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is an advantage.
