Nextgreen Supports Launch of Eco-Friendly Food Packaging from Oil Palm Biomass

Nextgreen participated in the Majlis Pelancaran Produk Pembungkusan Makanan Mesra Alam dari Bahan Kelapa Sawit & Program Taklimat Bazar Ramadan, held at Dewan Kelab Golf Diraja Pekan and organised in conjunction with the Bazar Ramadan briefing programme by Majlis Perbandaran Pekan Bandar Diraja Pahang.
The event marked the official introduction of environmentally responsible food packaging solutions derived from oil palm biomass a significant step towards reducing reliance on conventional plastic packaging. The initiative promotes circular economy principles by transforming renewable biomass into sustainable, value-added packaging materials.

With Ramadan bazaars generating high daily volumes of single-use food packaging, the programme aims to encourage traders and local communities to adopt greener alternatives. The initiative reflects a proactive effort to embed sustainability practices at the community level, particularly during peak festive seasons where environmental impact is amplified.

Nextgreen’s Managing Director, Dato’ Lim Thiam Huat, was present at the event, highlighting the Group’s ongoing engagement in bio-based innovation and support for sustainable industrial development. The company continues to implement practical bio-based solutions that support economic growth and environmental responsibility, contributing to the broader adoption of eco-friendly packaging and a more sustainable future.
