Nextgreen was proud to sponsor Professor Ts. Dr. Hidayah Ariffin’s Inaugural Lecture, titled “Innovating Oil Palm Biomass: Micro to Nano Scale Biomaterials Towards a Circular Bioeconomy” held on 4 July 2025 at Auditorium Rashdan Baba, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
The event featured an inspiring lecture by Professor Hidayah, who shared valuable insights into the development of biomass technologies and their pivotal role in driving a sustainable circular bioeconomy.
As a close collaborator, we were deeply inspired by the actionable strategies presented by Professor Hidayah and her team, particularly in transforming biomass waste into high-value products. These efforts strongly resonate with Nextgreen’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and regenerative solutions.
The event also marked a significant milestone in our ongoing partnership, with a Letter of Intention (LOI) passover ceremony between Nextgreen, represented by our Executive Directors, Ts. Dr. Kelly Lim Kah Yen and Ms. Megan Lim Kah Yee, and UPM, represented by Prof. Ts. Dr. Hidayah, for the technology transfer of nanocellulose. This meaningful occasion was witnessed by YBhg. Dato’ Professor Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, Vice Chancellor of UPM.
The ceremony further underscores our shared dedication to advancing the valorization of agricultural waste through research, strategic partnerships, and commercialization. As we move forward, Nextgreen remains steadfast in contributing to a greener, more circular future.
