Partnership and pipeline

Understanding the importance of collaboration, Nextgreen invests in purposeful partnerships to drive innovation and scale circular solutions across our value chain for commercial, environmental, and social goals.

We recognise that achieving a truly sustainable and circular economy, requires strong collaboration across the value chain by fostering strategic partnerships that drive innovation, operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.

In February 2024, GTP was visited by PETRONAS Chemical Group Berhad and PETRONAS Research Sdn Bhd which marked as an initial step toward establishing a potential research collaboration.

In April 2024, Nextgreen signed a Shareholders’ Agreement (“SA”) with IOI Corporation Berhad’s subsidiary, IOI Paper Pulp Sdn Bhd, to develop Malaysia’s first large-scale zero-waste paper pulp plant within NGGB’s flagship industrial park, Green Technology Park (GTP) in Pekan, Pahang.

Nextgreen IOI Pulp Sdn Bhd (NIP), a joint venture (“JV”) between Nextgreen Global and IOI Corp Bhd, had signed a memorandum of understanding with Xiamen C&D to jointly develop a paper pulp production facility at the Green Technology Park in Pekan, Pahang.

In June 2024, Nextgreen signed a MoU with Sawit Palm Oil Industrial Cluster Sdn Bhd (“SPOIC”), a subsidiary of Sawit Kinabalu Group (“SKG”) to develop and establish a Green Technology Park (GTP) in Sandakan.

We believe that sharing knowledge, resources and best practices creates opportunities to develop sustainable solutions and empower a more responsible and sustainability-minded future. Throughout the years we have signed MOUs with local and international universities across Malaysia.

In January 2024, Nextgreen’s R&D Team conducted a comprehensive working visit to Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (“UPNM”), which included an in-depth exploration of their laboratories and facilities.

In May 2024, Nextgreen officially inked an MoU with Taylor’s University, solidifying our commitment to fostering a dynamic synergy between academia and industry.

Our Managing Director, Dato’ Lim Thiam Huat, has been reappointed as CEO@ Faculty for the Faculty of Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences (“FBSB”) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (“UPM”) for the 2024/2025 term.

Nextgreen Global Berhad (NGGB) and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of a five-year collaboration aimed at advancing academic research, publications, student and staff mobility programmes, and industrial visits.
